When you bring 18 South African voices, which need no accompanying sound it is a challenge. Aki Nawaz here tests himself with some of the most beautiful voices that nature could produce but also contaminate into some very difficult constructions.

The Might Zulu Nation are giving the space and dignity including their own space without interference in an album which breaks many traditions.

Created in the hills of Halifax but the voices transported in from Durban, South Africa, it is an experiment which pushed the punk Aki over the edge.

With Fun Da Mental, The Mighty Zulu Nation traveled many continents to which they took the experiment to live audiences. the energy and madness was mesmerizing.

Paul Simon kept it tidy, Aki Nawaz made it real.
